Good boar. One leg doesn't stop a dog from hunting. Smiley

Same thing happened to my buddies dog and he got the leg amputated and he is still a dang good dog. He'll go over a mile on a hog. We call him tripod haha  laugh

I am looking at that as an option.  However, I hate to not try and fix it.  Right Now I am looking into taking him to the vet in Coldspring.  They quoted me a price that I am willing to loose in the gamble if the surgery does not work which there is a pretty high chance of......and showed the most confidence that they could fix it.

Matt....If i can get the leg fixed so that it will have atleast some sence of functionality then I will hunt him again in the future.  If it does'nt end up getting fixed I am going to see if the leg causes any problems and if it does then might have to get it amputated from the femur down.  In that case, and as hard a dog as he is, I just dont know if he will be able to get out of the way fast enough on another bad hog, so I don't know if it will be practical to hunt him anymore.  He might have to live the rest of his life as a farm dog or someone might be able to use him as a cow dog on gentle cattle.  He is allready adjusting to moving with three legs he can get around the yard ok.
