If you have all your dogs staked out you can go to an army navy store and get one of there big camo nets.  It will provide shade because of the camo leaf material on it.  The best though is the mesh material that landscapers use to wrap around their trees when they hall them.  That stuff puts out alot of shade and you can get it in big sections.  Just set some posts and string it up.
