OK, the problem with heads & head gaskets has only a little to do with what thier made of and more to do with the way eng are built to day (by robot)....all head bolts on most all eng's in the last 15yrs are torque to yield bolts and their designed to stretch...this is so the robot can torque the bolts, they are pulled down to a low ftllb amount generally just greater than 50ftlb then turned another 180 deg. to 360 deg. to the piont of yield or stretch...there is a large margin of error in this process and a machine torqueing all the head bolts at one time can do it over and over.....and this all works great till you hook up your bullydog and double the combustion pressures then your stretching your stretchy bolts....hence the cyl.head bolt stud kit that fixes the 6.0L ford problems.... Ive been in three eng. plants, ford 5.4L romeo, chrysler world eng. 2.0L pez, and cummins small eng. div. L10 command and smaller... and as fast as they put them together I'm suprized more of'em dont fail....I get in and out of all three makes every week, Drive the one YOU like because for 40-55k $$$ for a nicely loaded 4x4, can come with alot a buyers remorse JMO
