I want to thank everyone for the kind words in the posts, pm's and phone calls... I really appreciate it. I've been on a real bad luck streak these past two years with dogs. I was telling Chris earlier that I need to take up a new hobby... that's the sixth dog i've lost since my old Blue dog died.

It looks like brucellosis got him. He started coming down with the symptoms at the end of last week, not eating, lethargic and swollen testicles. I couldn't get him into the vet that day, so I started him on antibiotics. No big deal, been down this road before with three other dogs. Sure enough, the swelling went down and he was getting active and back to normal. He had an appointment this morning to get checked out. When my wife went to load him up, she found him dead in his dog house.

Doc Merry said brucellosis is goung around real bad right now. I think she had three dogs at her office she was treating. She also said to let everyone know to wear gloves if you are doctoring on your dogs and have any cuts on your hands... people can get it.
