I don't think you will ever be able to hunt him again.
I had that happen to my best strike dog at 6. Waited over 1 year for it to heal before she stepped foot in the woods. The first hog I caught again with her, she got the same injury. Cost me $1000 the first time and I wont even go into the second time.
They can wire it up shut and it will heal in about 3 months but the bone will never be strong enough for the pressure of hunting.
And I caught both hogs with her broken jaw and all!
Sorry for your dog.....I know how you feel, I retired one that way.
