Well actually she is probably the best hog dog I'll ever have. Yes, she is plenty gritty for me. She's no doubt the smartest dog I've ever seen,....and I've had a Lab and lots of other kinds over the years, but I'll swear that this dog can reason things out. She's a stem-winder in the woods,....she's fast and if there's a hog around, she'll find it. She can 'read' a hog the best of any dog I've ever hunted with,....if she thinks she can handle it she will catch, if the hog is mean and she's by herself or with other dogs that won't catch much, then she'll stand back and bay. She will always catch if the other dogs do....they've caught some pretty rangy, old boar hogs in the last couple of years. Bad thing is,.....the guy I got her from doesn't remember the name of the older guy he bought her and 3 littermates from, and the other 3 all are gone. He can even remember where the guy was from in GA.....wish I had a few more just like her. I had never thought of that cross either, but apparently it works.

It's easy to judge the character of a man,....by how he treats those that can do nothing for him.
