Take him off the coyotes and try him on hogs. If you are wanting to breed hog dogs then use dogs that have apptitude and abilty on hogs. What they do on one type of animals maybe says they have alot of drive, but not all drives are equal on different types of game when it comes to actually engaging the prey.
what I am saying is the dog may be top notch on coyotes and only fair on hogs, if you want to breed a "hog dog" then start with dogs that are top shelf. If you are just experimenting then, then its just a guessing game, and know way to know until those slower maturing stag type dogs grow up and thats alot of time spent waiting to find out, if they are going to turn out, meaning alot of money in feedand care to crap shoot.
