Been using the same set of galvanized buckets for over 3 years now. Never have an algae problem, although i give fresh water every day. Then only thing I have noticed is a few of my buckets eventually started leaking a little. But that doesnt really bother me since i refill every day. If they start to leak too bad I will just clip that one on the fence for a feed bucket and buy another. Plus they cant chew em up, I think i got them at Lowes or Home Depot.
