My wife has a westie that If we get the car keys he doen't care but if we grab the truck keys he jumps up and waits by the front door. We have tried to fool him by grabbing the keys very carefully but it doesn't matter.

Years ago my wife was taking medicine that made her real sick. I was working a plant shutdown/expansion and was working 12 hr days. I tried to get her to not clean up the kennels nor to feed the dogs or to let them out for excercise. She is hard headed and insisted that she carry her share of the load.

When she let the dogs out she would have some trouble with them to get back in their kennels. She said that when she was feeling pretty bad that the dogs would come and stand by her and lick her hand and wouldn't act up. She also said that the dogs were very obediant during these times...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
A hunting dog is born not made...
