I lost a dog years ago to a twisted stomach. Was bloated. Read up on it and supposedly had something to do with feeding them too close to exercize or hunting activity. Vet probably a good idea.
This usually happens to large big chested dogs like certain cur strains, great danes, rotts, etc.
Twisted stomach is called bloat and will kill a dog. The vet can operate but if the dog has it once it will be prone to get it again. Just like the quote says, do not feed the dog right before hard excercise/hunting or right after. It won't hurt to skip a feeding to prevent bloat.
