Maybe they cared about the dog, but maybe they did not call animal shelters, put up signs and continue looking for the dog figuring it would show back up. Either way had it been to the animal shelter it would be dead now, would matter if they care or not.
I have some comfort knowing that if my dog was unable to be found that someone would take the time to give it a chance knowing it was another hunters dog, just because even if we don't know each other, we all atleast share a mutal bond of interest, as hunters of dogs.
