not really mate. Depends on the country we're hunting. In the real open stuff they usually take the dogs to water if with in a couple of hundred metres. In the thicker stuff they just pull up against a tree or stump....Don't usually have to go any further than 400mtrs to get to em!
If we have a catch dog (lugger) with us then the pig stops when lugged up! Aussies hunt luggers differntly to you folk it seems. A lot of luggers over here are used to find also. So they are walked off the leash free to search & find, or free to jump from the ute when ever scent is picked up...We only "clip" them up when it gets too hot & then we just let the Catahoulas keep working
