Chainrated,

They are like having a child and require a lot of attention, but are definitely great dogs!  Always eager to learn or hunt in my expierence with them and everyone I talks too.  Just found out I am not allowed to breed mine because she tested positive for HD(that she can carry the trait I guess, because  she is straight as an arrow and I have had an AKC conformation judge who has Westminster wins also, and is familiar with the German Wire Hair standards(is the AKC version that doesnt have to pass all the field requirements, conformation, be a proven hunter, and have blood work and x-rays done mandatory, before they are allowed to breed, and you also have to be a sanctioned breeder to breed as well.  No backyard breeders.), said she was conformation CH. quality.  This breed has been like this for 107 yrs. so they produce a high precentage great dogs per litter.
