it's never too late to start a catch dog. if they were born with enough prey drive to catch a hog, they always have it. catching is not something you can train - they just do it, although sometimes a dog takes a little longer for the switch to click.  if he doesnt catch right away, get a baydog in there with him to excite him. if that doesnt work, leg a pig and get it squealing. the squeal really gets them going.
