It is not legal to shoot a dog in Texas unless the dog is running livestock.

However, if the dog is out running deer or disrupting a deer hunt... some hunters take deer hunting seriously and will shoot a dog. That is why I am very careful where I hog hunt with my dogs during deer season.

A friend of mine got one of his dogs killed during deer season and we went to court and we lost because the man said that he shot the dog because he was running cows. This dog was completely cow broke and we even went in with a video to show the judge that the dogs were cow broke but it was his word against ours....

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
A hunting dog is born not made...
