We are in South Texas and hunt alot of grain fields that border brush, recently the game warden asked my son and I if our dogs crossed fences or do we run shock collars to keep them on the right side of the fence, I laughed! He said some property owners don't like dogs on their property, I held back and didn't tell him the farmer I'm hunting for doesn't like the hogs from that guy's property on his farm land! I know an individual who was prosecuted for killing a feral hog on someone's property, because it isn't classified as wildlife it fell into the hands of the Texas and Southwest Cattle Raiser's jurisdiction as "livestock". I figure if we ever run into trouble I'll just have the farmer file against the property owner where the hogs are coming from for "crop damage", he should keep his hogs on his property so they don't damage the crops. It is ridiculous that dogs are treated this way, why would anyone not being attacked even consider shooting one? Sorry for your loss. Don't let it rest, folks need to know you can't just go around killing dogs.
