Thanks yall, defenitely got the goods to work with.... just got to not screw them up now!!!
hey noah how long did you wait before you turned the pups out in front of the sow....we been doing that with some older pups that we have already started hunting and got them doing good so we want to keep them going even during deer season....we been turning the hog loose and waiting about 30 min and turn them loose we been doing it in an open field and sending the hog towards the woodline...by the way it looks like you got something to look forward to
Goose, this was the 1st time I've let these pups work a loose hog in the woods. They're 4mnths right now and just now
really turnin' on... I kicked that sow out and 'soon as she hit the edge of the bayhead, cut the 4 pups to her. Will be increasing the lead time as they get a little older/faster... just keepin' it easy and fun right now! But I have to do the same as you until these goat worshipers clear out of my woods...
Just tryin' ta keep the young dogs tuned in 'till it's game time!!!
nice pics and good looking dogs...I like the bob tails.
Reuben, thanks, I really like the looks of some of your old dogs... hope you and Scott can bring 'em back!
lookin good noah , i'm proud for ya ! did you only keep females ?
Thanks JDT!!! No, I kept 2 females and 2 males... culled down to 6 based on conformation/personality... 2 good males went to my boys in Myakka, should get some good feedback from them... they'll get worked hard, that's for damn sure! I sure don't care to keep a male dog, but if I'm gonna try an' "refine" these mixbreed dogs... I guess it's a necessary evil...
Great pics, those are some good looking pups and or coarse they take after mom. Good luck on your hunt with Mark, it is going to be cold. You will have to give a full report.
Thanks Lisa! Lookin' forward to huntin' that Hampton tract with Mark... tired of hearin' about all the "big toothies" in there... ready to see for myself! Just hopin' the hogs are in there as dry as it is right now!
