I can understand the idea of raising and training your own dogs - and the gratification you'd feel when those dogs turn out right. What I have an issue with is dealing with those crazy pups until they are ready to start. We have two pups from our gritty, suicidal plott dog who are just maniacs. Don't get me wrong - they are good looking, high energy pups. I have the highest hopes for them, but for now they are just all over the place. We have raised the Dusti dog from 10 weeks old, and she will be ready to hit the woods as soon as she has some one on one time with the neighbors' cattle (trash breaking if needed). It feels like we fed these dogs FOREVER and are just now getting to see some reward. What I'd like to have is someone who would raise our future pups until they are ready to start :
