Ha ha. We start wrapping pipes opening weekend of dove season. That way when the wells freeze at night they'll thaw the next day so we can figure out what needs wrapping or a heatlamp before the really cold stuff hits. Last year we snowed in froze solid for 4 days, but the well house and water was good. 
may have spent $30/day in electricity for lamps and heaters but we had water.
