Very good topic and post fellas! To go one step further, this is what I use. I use a collar that has the brass nameplate that has my info on it along with "reward", but I add something to it! I use a slip on tag made by Boomerang Tags. This tag is easily slipped onto the collar and is very large for extra info. I carry a few extra of these tags in my truck console, in the event my buddy does not have a tag on his collar or we are hunting public land where more than one pack of dogs will likely cross up. This way, anyone can easily get our numbers without having to get a microscope out to locate a phone number. I also list my cell, as well as my wife's cell number on my tags. I cannot tell you how many times I have left to go hunting out of town and had a dog get loose or the kids let one get away and I am not in cell phone coverage. Luckily my wife doesn't mind helping recover my dogs when this happens and it pays to have an extra phone number on the dog. We were hunting last year where we were on a very large WMA and no cell phone signal. One of my buddie's dogs ended up hooking up with a crew from another town, they called and got her, exchanged info, and that night I was able to get in touch with them and get the dog back. Now, this slip on tag does nothing to stop anyone wanting to steal a dog, but neither does a collar.
