sound like oats might be better than the rye grass. she mainly wanted something growing out there instead of just dirt. when i planted as a kid my dad just told me take them bags of seed and go throw it around out there boy. i dont really know what we planted but our pasture never looked bald like hers but we had ours on 4 acres. i think she needs to get rid of at least one horse.
