Mohog your completly right. Just because a dog works good in one pack. He may not be the alpha dog in another pack. Plus dogs are animals and not machines.....They will do what they want to do. Almost like a teenager.....Every dog has its own personality. Me and sportsman just got a badass pit from PA.Well he was in a bus for 3 or 4 days and skitish when we first met. Dogs get attached to the person that feeds them or stressed when they get moved around to. I'd say give the dog a few weeks then make an assumption.

Buying a dog on trial is no better than buying it without.  Nor is having a contract written.  It is all a gamble.  Go hunt with the dog first or suffer the consequences!!!    Wink Wink
That dont always work either.I watched a dog hunt his butt off out to 800 yds then he shut down a big boar.Bought him, took him huntin and he
just stood at my feet and looked at me.Dropped him in fresh sign, and he just stood at my feet lookin at me.I was about to get disgusted but I
seen this dog work before I bought him.Dropped him out with my gyp caught a couple hogs and hes startin to come back around.Just gotta remember a dog still has a mind of his own and sometimes it just takes time to adjust.
