question for u dogo men? and u APBT men!!!

Once upon a time when we had those hard core APBT breeders, those men who bred for the ultimate dog with grit and stamina that no other breed of dog could equal. The APBT was the breed of choice for whatever reason and these dogs had to pass the ultimate test to become the breeders of tomorrow.JMO

We still have breeders who breed performance APBT's but the testing is done in other ways.

There are lots of different types of pit bulls out there... from the bully breeds to the leggy agile type that can run as fast as any cur dog out there.

I remember when the red red nosed pit was a high dollar dog and everyone and their brother was breeding them for the big money. I also remember when the same happened with the blue blue nosed pit. Everyone and their sister was breeding these for the big money.

Anytime a breed gets too popular the breed suffers because too many people get in the breeding game that don't know anything about breeding better dogs much less selecting quality dogs to continue breeding better dogs. As soon as the fad is over and the market is saturated and the price falls off they abandon ship. The true breeders who care about the breed are in it for the long haul...

With every generation and the back yard breeders breeding these dogs without regard to or for working ability, the dogs are slowly losing some of their gameness. Again JMO...

I can see where the right dogo crossed with the right pit would produce a high quality catch dog but I wouldn't bet on all the puppies making high quality catch dogs.
