Thats pretty common around here. Any good cur should be able to do both its just a matter of putting a solid handle on the dog so you can pull it off. Some guys have cowdogs they hunt hogs with occasionally, someguys have hog dogs they can pen cows with if need be. I have a couple that I can use on cattle or hogs, but I dont put them on cows much at all. They will work cattle only when I sick' them on the cows, but they will hunt hogs regardless if I want them to or not. So if they find hot sign might end up baying hogs instead of getting the cows penned. Mine are not Catahoulas though just working Cur dogs.
