Last night I finally got to load Cooper up with me and take him to see what its all about. We loaded up the dogs ( Willie, Rusty, George and Boston ). Me and Coop hit a place that has been pretty good to our team. No luck. So I called Scott to see if he wanted to laod up when he got back to town. Scott says oh yea. So me Coop drive to the next town and pick up Scott. We head out to a wheat patch that a farmer had been seeing some activity. We dump down and bout 100 yards into it the dogs take out. Rusty Willie and George catch the first boar bout 470yds out down wind. We take off and leg the hog for Coop. The look on Coops face was priceless. That hog cut up Rusty and Willie. We load up and go to the other side of the wheat patch. The dogs take off and bay solid at bout 840yds. We take off around the wheat field to get closer, and run to the bay. We have a whole group of hogs bayed solid. Then here comes 40 head of cows. They stampede the bay. The dogs take out after the herd of hogs. They bay up at bout .5 so we load up and drive closer. We get within 200yds we let Boston go. Rusty and Willie catch a good 200lb plus sow that is wipping them good. Boston smokes past them and goes to the bay that George has. We stick the sow that Rusty and Willie have caught. Head to Boston and George. Role it over and Coop sticks again! We load the dogs back up and head bck to wheat patch. We dump down and not long at all the dogs take out bout 720yrds and bay solid again. So we hurry and kick Boston loose and in no time we hear some good grunting. WE take off to caught hog and here come the cows again. They stampede the caught hog! The dogs split up again and end up catching bout 60 yrds out and its a 200lb plus sow. Not the same hog that we had at first but it will do especially when you have that going on. Here some pics enough with the story!! All in all a good first hunt for a 9 year old.
