      While I have no intention of changing your mind about catch and release, this might explain why some people catch and release. I know a number of people in this area that barr hogs so that they can then kill them later and have "good" meat. They hunt the forest and catch boars, barr them, catch them again the next year and kill them. They don't leave the meat to waste, they make good use of the meat.

     On the other hand, I completely understand your opinion, when applied to farmers and ranchers. There are properties that I am doing removal that I cannot cut and release, and there are properties where I hunt for sport and I can barr em on those places.
