Thanks for the info on the pig nipples, I think I'll find a different option.  Either the Lixit like you are using, or the water bowls.

I have this waterer in my chicken coop, and it has worked well, except for getting mud build up that has to be cleaned out occasionally.




I might just have to flip a coin and decide which one to use.


Another option I have considered, is something like Bryant did with his water.  Just run a water line to each bucket, then have an irrigation timer turn on each day for a minute, or whatever it takes to fill a 3 gallon bucket.  I already have a digital, inline irrigation timer, and that would keep them in fresh water fulltime. But still allow me to have a built in drain in each line, in the event of a pending freeze.
