Lots of catahoulas throw pure black pups. I've seen several different lines of yella dogs that throw various colors... one line brindles, one saddlebacks, one reds, one blacks. There's no telling what all dogs were in those lines to begin with.

You really see a lot of black dogs and brindle dogs when you start cross breeding them.
