I know this has nothing to do with your question and there was another thread about this before ,but  my dad hunted javalina with dogs for nearly 25 yrs and says that theyre not really as bad as everyone makes it seem, a hog is alot worser on a dog than a javalina,now dnt get me wrong if you have a suicidal dog that gets in there and tries to catch rite away he is gonna get killed or hurt real bad.. he never lost a dog to a javalina or never really got one hurt real bad,even thou he did hear bout a few of his buddies loosin a few dogs to them but it was usually cuz  they were bayed in a bad spot. he wouldnt use catchdogs ,he would shoot over his dogs ,but he says that many times the dogs had already killed them by the time he got there.he would usually run 5 walker hounds.
