I hunt by myself a lot. Not really a preference but that's just how it turns out. Plus its like grocery shopping. I prefer a big backstrap over a good set of cutters. The only time I got in a bind was when my dogs got on a boar one night in a creek bed. After they caught I jumped in and it was further down than I thought and I sprained my knee real bad. I couldn't get up to stab it but that's why I always carry a pistol as back up and got a clean shot when my dogs weren't in the way. It was a long walk back to the truck.
