The PETA folks are good at getting bleeding heart liberals to donate money to their organization. Most of these people do not live in the real world but Fantasyland.

One day I was going to work and was crossing the long bridge on Lake Palestine. A water turkey had been hit by a car because it flew too low over the bridge. This lady stopped her car right in the road and was trying to gather up the bird. She could care less that she was about to cause a serious wreck. I got on out of there because an accident was going to happen. However, I did want to see that water turkey take a  plug out of her arm when she got hold of it.

This has been about 8 years ago now when I was selling cars and trucks. I sold the guy from Tiger Creek (the big cat refuge on 14 just north of Tyler) a couple of trucks. If there is a big cat of any kind anywhere in the US he takes his special trailer and goes and gets it.

Their funding comes from donations secured over the internet. Several movies have been made about the place. They were going through 2,500 pounds of chicken a week back then. They also went through several hundred pounds of beef also. Game wardens brought them dead animals they found on the road.

The budget for that place in 2003 was 830,000.00 per year.
