rough dog catches, tries to catch, and dont care how big or bad the hog is... a gritty dog is just that, gritty. mite be catchy to some extent, prolly bite u if he dont know you,mite not take crap from other dogs... just a good old tough dog... but not necessarily suicidal on a hog like a rough dog. I like mine gritty. some are rough too tho... big difference in the two in my opinion
