I never realized the importance of bloodlines until recently. I guess I was lucky with getting good pups as a kid, but raising a few good looking pups that turned out worthless will change your mind. I think a dogs breeding(if done right) lessens the chances of feeding a pup for a year or two only to end up with a cull. That being said, my best dog ever was out of two yard dogs that never got hunted.
