My hound cross is slow. She has good wind but is slow on track. On the run she can keep up pretty decent with my curs but in a race I think a cur running head up wins over a hound head down any day of the week. We dont get into many races where we hunt, so I cant compare that well just going off what little I have seen.
The dog I am talking about is blood hound and cat cross(JerryG). She is a big female-80 or so pounds. Loose  bay as they come. Slow on track but learning each hunt. She will stay gone for a while she will be tired when she comes back but will hit the ground running if you drop her again.
