well in the early 1980's I bought a few dogs that were supposed to be hog dogs and I got took, switched to airedales and I finally decided that a pure airedale pack wasn't working for me.

Late 1980's and early 1990's got a few mtn curs and some were pretty good and finally got some good ones and bred off of those bloodlines. A cross between texas smoke (original)mtn cur and kemmer stock mtn cur with a pinch of bmc. I give credit to H.B. White and A.C. Zoeller for breeding up these dogs but these were linebred and inbred dogs with lots of hunt...I stayed with those dogs until 2007 and I was never disappointed with that line of dogs.

Tried to get back in and am having to take baby steps with these dogs I have now...There is no doubt in my mind, a well bred dog for hog hunting is the best way to go. We might not always get the best pup but the chances of getting a good one goes up considerably as compared to a pup with no particular breeding.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
A hunting dog is born not made...
