my buddy phillip likes his patterdales, I think youll kill a few varmits every hunt but that doesnt bother me for the most part..... they ae fun to hunt with and would be my first choice if I had to downgrade in kennell space of feed etc. never seen a crossed up one with  bigger dog but I would guess that would be fun to do with decent results
