I had an 11 mo old gyp get it that had all her shots and lost 2 other pups that were 4 mo old all were on concrete. Don't have any idea how I got it vet said it could have come from anywhere. I raised 2 litters of beagles in the same pens a year before never gave any shots until 8 weeks never lost one. I started raising pups in a pen off the ground and not putting them on the ground until 10 days after the second round of shots and haven't had any problems. This all happened 3 years ago and and I bleached the pens out over and over so far so good.
