I believe we lost one a few years back to Corona, she was fine in the morning and then on her way out that evening....cold to the touch, gummy spit and lathargic. Her sister became sick days later but I had already started her on Pepto / Aloe and B12 plus I took her to the vet to have tested (which was negative) but they gave me some antibiotics and anti-throw up meds and she never got real sick.
When i picked up my puppy shots from Van Roekel's i asked the vet for the 7 in 1 plus corona and she told me they didnt havethem since corona wasnt a problem around here.
I had never heard of Corona Virus either up until that one puppy had gotten sick and typically when one gets Parvo they all get it eventually....or atleast that had always been my experience. I was telling our vet about it one late night and he is the one that actually mentioned the Corona Virus because I had told him how it had the same smell and symptoms of Parvo but it moved way quicker than any Parvo experience I had ever seen.
If youre a stickler on vaccines I dont see the harm in spending the extra money and getting it....my vet didnt say it was real common but that it was something they were begining to see more of and that the best thing to do was to let them do it to ensure the vaccines were good.
Another thing, the dog man I get 99.9% of my info from swears that vaccinating late in the evening keeps them from reacting from the shot versus doing it in the heat of the day....what do yall think? do you have any vaccinating procedures?
