glenn you hit a grand slam with this dog, he was hard to keep up with the old tracking collars but the garmin gps you could stay with him. i would let him and only him out until he struck a hog (was just a matter of time) if the hog was a runner i would follow him on gps and get in front of them, then kick a couple cur dogs out and it was game over just about every time. most the time you could tell which way he was by that deep bawl (was unbelievable) i like closed mouth dogs usually but he sure sounded good. once i figured out how to hunt him with my curs my hog catching improved 100%. marshall i can promise you he was well taken care of my daughter grew very attached to him, she called him pete (not for sure why) so thats what we called him. i think he was alot of dog for the avg. hunter , i spent alot of hours with him in the woods when all my other dogs have gave up. he will be missed by me and my family, i hope the pups that i got out of him are half as good.
