My kennels are all concrete, 3/4 covered and facing the North. They get best sunlight in a.m. and evenings. I have raised many pups out of my kennels and not had one bit of trouble, but I do let the dogs out for a couple of hours a day.(weather permitting) Always known sunlight is essential for anything living thing, but dont leave them in it all the time.
