" A man just has to sort through a bunch of BMC these days or know who has the dogs that suit the style of hunting a fellow is looking to do "
Bob that's a darn tuff job to with as many BMC dogs as there are under every shade tree. I bet I've called and talked to honestly 100 different people over the course of a year or two and heard 100 different opinions about what kind of dog there breeding and why. I'm more confused now than when I got my first dog and now that I'm moving to a vastly different area that makes it even tougher
Not that I am the guy with any answers.... but dont you think the best thing to do is hunt with the dogs to see if they are what you like and if they are, then make sure your getting them from a source that is breeding in a way that reproduces a high % of the similiar traits (line breeding) regularly vs a guy who is just throwing together "good dog to good dog" ??
BMC or CAT etc that is what I am doing, Ive only been hunting for 5 yrs though and still keep a humble approach to this and learn from the old timers every chance I get, or cull the old timers not in line with this general point of view but still show them respect and courtesy
