r22 is going to be cheaper. if its a older unit that is probably what it has. 410a is the new freon they are using now. my brother has a a/c company and is charging $24 for r22 and i think its $32 for 410a. every unit holds a different amount of freon so it can get expensive fast. hopefully they can get it fixed quick and stay easy on your wallet.
