... so re-grouped and kicked Lee's dogs out, Camo and Sawfish bayed another lil' boar up deep and Snapps finished it off... Noon by now... it was a little warm to say the least  Grin

Lee and Lane wrastlin with one in the swamp

Snapps and Sawfish catchin' their breath...

Got back to the truck and decided it would be a good time now(1pm  Grin ) to pull Whaler out for his first run... walked him and Bucho into a big bottom... he jumped and left town...  Undecided  ... not what I expected to say the least... he appears to be finding his long-range gear all of a sudden(to my disgrin)... he went on to run this hog up onto a palmetto/sand hill that is about as hot a place as one could find on this ranch...  for almost an HOUR.  Undecided Undecided   ... Now at this point, I had forgotten about the hog, and was just trying to get to my dog before he killed himself in the heat... finally got to him and he was in bad shape... stumbling, cramping up... you know the bit...

Bucho and Whaler hiding in the noon shade...

Thank GOD I carry extra water in my pack or he wouldn't have made it... was a close call...  Some day I'll learn I guess...  Grin  Every dog is laid out stiff, as am I after this little adventure... guess that's what happens when you try and fit a week's worth of hunting into one morning....  Grin
