I have a plott hound male that is by far my best strike dog. He is pretty cold nosed and is silent on track. His only down fall is he is rough as hell!! he will try to catch any size hog!! but we run him and 2 catahoulas(one thats rough and one that isnt) and they can usually stop a runner!
Its sounds to like to me (if i read ur post right) that your other dogs may be putting some pressure on the hog when they get there, u may need to throw an rcd in the mix.
