I have raised a half plott half cur male dog since he was 3 months old.. He started slow in a pen,, bout 9mnths but when he did he was hog crazy ever since.. The plott nose is outstanding in my opinion and can find a hog and wind one from distances that a cur dog seems to have trouble.. The problem with mine is he has no patience and is way high strung. he opens up behind a track if the hog gets out ahead of him in a thicket after he looses sight of him.. So when u got good there is also badd.
