three weeks ago i lost 2 ybmc's and yeah like ya'll said.......its always the best ones..............my catch dog was cut up so i didnt have him (first mistake) so i borrowed a dog that my buddy just got given to him by a dog so quote on quote said that the dog "hits like a freighttrain everytime" well apparently the dog took the night off because instead of tearin out when i let him loose he stayed at my side and walked into the bay with me then this 110lb "freight train" decided to turn into a curr dog and bay the hog.........needless to say i went that night with 4 dogs and left with one......i havent had to use a gun on a pig since i started hunting until the other night.........i couldnt do anything but stand out of the way and hope to hell the pit/dogo was gonna catch and he never did..........long story short he got hit 1st and HARD then my two gyps followed thereafter....they were in 6ft tall marsh grass and i never could get a shot......so now im down to 1 walker and 1 catch dog..........it sucks......u always know in the back of your mind that it can happen but u tell urself it wont happen to you.........its not fun goin home and havin ur kids ask where the girls are or in my case havin my gf lookin at me askin where "her girls" are...............i can promise you from this day forward all of my dogs will run collars and vests! take my advice its just not worth it!
