I started hog hunting a little over a year ago.  I bought a couple of young cur pups and a Dogo pup and thought I'd train them to hunt as I learned the sport.  Mistake.

Reflecting back, now, the correct approach wold be to meet some folks and hunt with them.  Hunt a variety of different ways, with different types of dogs.  Find out what works for you and what doesn't.

Then get a well started or finished dog that hunts like you want.  Start building your pack to be how you want it.

I think I saw on another thread that you are twelve.  Always remeber this.  You have 40-50+ years of good hunting ahead of you.  Don't be consumed by the idea that you got to do everything right now.  Take it slow and have fun as you go.
