I started hog hunting a little over a year ago. I bought a couple of young cur pups and a Dogo pup and thought I'd train them to hunt as I learned the sport. Mistake.
Reflecting back, now, the correct approach wold be to meet some folks and hunt with them. Hunt a variety of different ways, with different types of dogs. Find out what works for you and what doesn't.
Then get a well started or finished dog that hunts like you want. Start building your pack to be how you want it.
I think I saw on another thread that you are twelve. Always remeber this. You have 40-50+ years of good hunting ahead of you. Don't be consumed by the idea that you got to do everything right now. Take it slow and have fun as you go.
