Ok. If your statement is askin why shelters use those 2 options then here is my opinion. If folks would get their lives in order first instead of jackin with others then the shelters would be so over crowded. I will admit that there are bad apples who spoil it for the whole basket n they cant/wont take care of their animals. Those people that choose to mistreat animals should have the same done to them in the exact same manner. I do NOT condone dog fighting, will NOT tolerate it by no means. With all the bad apples out there n the so called righteous animal lovers forcing their veiws on the public, the shelters fill up fast, but in the end no matter what, its DEATH. Why pass legislature that confiscates animals from their owners for using the dogs in a method of hunting that has been around for over 15,000 years, since the canine was domesticated. Dogs have a purpose other than eating, sleepin and pooping, and thats to be a loyal servant to man, just as god put the animals on this earth for. Laws are passed, dogs seized, put in shelters. The shelters have to do something with them, they can administer a drug induced death or confine them till death, but yet more senceless laws are passed, regulating the populous, making it where no matter what you do with your dog/s it could wind up costing you fines, jail time and seizer of your animal and then an unknow certainty of life for the animal. Once the shelters are full because the new laws passed with more regulations, wow again the shelters fill up, requiring more laws. Instead of creating anti dog breeding laws, how bout anti stupid people laws! No matter what, someone is gonna be pissed off because they have a different opinion and want their veiws heard.
I think that the anti's don't care about killing off pets/hunting dogs right now because they are looking at the big picture...lose some animals now but make it to where folks can't keep or breed dogs after they confiscate the dogs after the law kicks in...which is what they want...to lose a few battles but win the war...
