I have not been around that many. However, the ones that I was around had a very low tolerance for pain.

the sturdy type dobermans from about 30-40 years ago were tough. People would mistake a year to year and a half old pup as a grown dog...so sometimes a pup like that would belly up to another dog but when that pup turned 2 years old he was a different dog. But a doberman is more of a biter and slasher. at least the ones I was around were...

now adays they are too tall, too narrow chested and narrow headed. no agility whatsoever...the show folks ruined a good working breed.
