if you see black smoke or any smoke out the tail pipe you are not getiing complete combustion so wasting fuel...need to open up on the intake air and exhaust like previously stated...unless it is blue smoke from leaking oil. I wonder how much extra horsepower we would get with 100% combustion and fuel economy. The engine, transmission, rearend...something would probably give.
